Once the Pierre-Luc Dubois file was shelved, the Montreal Canadiens turned around and acquired the rights of young forward Alex Newhook from the Colorado Avalanche.  Kent Hughes traded the 31st pick, obtained from the Florida Panthers , and the 37th pick in the 2023 draft and defenseman Gianni Fairbrother, a 22-year-old prospect.  During his press briefing, Kent Hughes refused to talk about the Pierre-Luc Dubois case, since he is a player under contract with another team.  The Habs boss, however, was clear when asked if the trade to Colorado was done because it didn't work out with the Jets.

The Chicago Blackhawks won the NHL Draft. There. Done. It doesn’t matter what happens from here, because the Hawks got a generational talent in Connor Bedard who should be able to change their on-ice culture quickly and turn Chicago back into a winning team on his own.  Yes, he’s that damn good — and if the front office can put more help around him we’ll see something very special.  The issue is that the pick still feels so ... icky. There’s no better way to say it. We cannot allow the hype of Bedard lighting it up in the NHL distract us from the fact that lives are in tatters, families damaged, and careers ruined because the former Chicago brain trust decided sexual assault wasn’t worth dealing with if the team was winning.  There’s nuance here, and it’s really difficult to weigh it all out. Blackhawks fans deserve a great player. The city deserves Bedard. However, it all feels perfunctory when Rocky Wirtz was able to maintain ownership of the club, despite his disgusting response to questions about the sexual assault of Kyle Beach at a town hall meeting in 2022 designed to allow people to question senior leadership of the organization.  “If somebody in the company asks that question, we’ll answer it, and I think you should get on to the next subject. We’re not going to talk about Kyle Beach. We’re not going to talk about anything that happened. Now we’re moving on. What more do I have to say?”  Wirtz later apologized with a carefully-crafted message from his PR team, but the damage was done. The men directly responsible for the cover-up were gone, but the man at the top had no empathy for what took place. That’s why it felt vile to see Chicago rewarded with the No. 1 pick in the lottery when by any semblance of basic humanity, they should have received unprecedented punishment for allowing a player in their system to be repeatedly abused by a former coach.

The New York Yankees right-hander pitched the 24th perfect game in major league history Wednesday night, retiring every Oakland batter in an 11-0 victory over the Athletics.

It was the first perfect game since Seattle Mariners ace Félix Hernández threw one against the Tampa Bay Rays on Aug. 15, 2012. There were three that season — but none since until Germán finished off the first no-hitter in the majors this year.

He joined Don Larsen (1956), David Wells (1998) and David Cone (1999) as Yankees to pitch perfect games. Larsen’s gem came in Game 5 of the 1956 World Series against the Brooklyn Dodgers.

“So exciting,” Germán said through a translator. “When you think about something very unique in baseball, not many people have an opportunity to pitch a perfect game. To accomplish something like this in my career is something that I’m going to remember forever.”

Coming off a pair of terrible starts, Germán (5-5) struck out nine of 27 hitters against the A’s, who have the worst record in the majors at 21-61.

The 30-year-old pitcher served a 10-game suspension last month after getting ejected from a game in Toronto for using an illegal sticky substance on the mound. His only previous complete game as a professional came with Double-A Trenton in April 2017.

Winless in six previous outings against Oakland, Germán threw 72 of 99 pitches for strikes. He mixed 51 curveballs and 30 fastballs that averaged 92.5 mph with 17 changeups and one sinker.

Les pilotes sont tous des étudiants de la ville. Le temps d'un été, ils racontent l'histoire singulière de leur village. Au temps de sa prospérité économique, le lavoir était ici un signe extérieur de richesse. "The cause of his death is under further investigation, pending the results of additional analyses," he said. Human remains were found Saturday morning in nature by hikers, five months after the disappearance of the actor.

Une voiture de luxe en dépense irraisonnable

Se décrivant comme « un entrepreneur nourrissant des ambitions dans la musique », René-Charles Angélil passerait plus de temps à organiser des soirées avec ses camarades qu’en cours. Toujours d’après Soir Mag, il mènerait "une vie d’oisif privilégié"» en comparaison de celles de ses camarades, et dilapiderait son héritage à travers un train de vie luxueux. Récemment, le jeune homme a fait une sacrée folie, en achetant une Mercedes-Benz AMG classe G63, estimée à plus de… 300 000 euros.

Un train de vie qui inquiéterait sa mère, déjà bien occupée avec ses soucis de santé. Selon des sources proches de la chanteuse, Céline Dion n’aurait plus de nouvelles de son fils, qui a quitté le domicile familial il y a quelque temps déjà. Des informations qui expliqueraient notamment pourquoi la chanteuse n’a publié aucune récente photo de sa famille au moment de la fête des mères, comme elle a coutume de faire. Un coup dur de plus pour la chanteuse, qui a dû annuler sa tournée à cause de son syndrome de l'homme raide.

Colleen Ballinger has denied allegations she “groomed” and formed inappropriate relationships with underage fans.   The YouTuber, 36, who initially found fame with her alter ego Miranda Sings, recently took to social media to refute the claims through a song titled “Toxic Gossip Train.” In a YouTube video posted on Wednesday, June 28, Ballinger played the ukulele and claimed viewers were on a “one-way ticket to manipulation station” while the internet “ties me to the tracks and harass me for my past.”   Ballinger began her video by alleging that “some people are saying things about me that just aren’t true” and that “even though my team has strongly advised me not to say what I’m going to say, I realized they never said I couldn’t sing about what I want to say.”  The content creator then jumped into her tune, explaining that she used to message her fans “to be besties with everybody” but “didn’t understand that maybe there should be some boundaries there.” She added that had no plans to “take the route” of saying she is “100 percent in the wrong” and to do so would be “admitting to lies and rumors that you made up for clout.”

Madonna liegt im Krankenhaus

Wegen einer schweren Infektion musste Madonna am Samstag in ein Krankenhaus eingeliefert werden. Ihr scheint es langsam besser zu gehen. Sorge um die "Queen of Pop": Wie ihr Manager Guy Oseary, 50, auf Instagram mitteilt, sei Madonna, 64, vor wenigen Tagen aufgrund einer Infektion in ein Krankenhaus eingeliefert worden und habe mehrere Tage auf der Intensivstation verbracht. Der legendären Sängerin soll es demnach mittlerweile jedoch wieder etwas besser gehen.  Madonna erholt sich von einer Infektion "Am Samstag, den 24. Juni, hat sich bei Madonna eine schwerwiegende bakterielle Infektion entwickelt, die zu einem mehrtägigen Aufenthalt auf der Intensivstation geführt hat", schreibt Oseary. "Ihr Gesundheitszustand verbessert sich, sie befindet sich aber noch in medizinischer Behandlung. Eine vollständige Genesung wird erwartet", heißt es weiter.   Derzeit ist unklar, ob sich Madonna noch auf der Intensivstation befindet. Wie unter anderem die britische "Daily Mail" und "Billboard" unter Berufung auf anonyme Quellen berichten, soll sie diese angeblich mittlerweile verlassen haben.   Madonna muss Tourstart verschieben Oseary bestätigt, dass Madonna den Start ihrer geplanten "The Celebration Tour" verschieben muss, die am 15. Juli im kanadischen Vancouver beginnen sollte. Man wolle den Fans neue Details mitteilen, sobald man mehr wisse – darunter auch das neue Startdatum für die Tour und Termine für weitere verschobene Auftritte.  Wie sich die Erkrankung auf spätere Termine der Tournee auswirken könnte, ist derzeit nicht bekannt. Shows in Europa werden aktuell auf Madonnas Homepage ab Mitte Oktober gelistet. Unter anderem auch in Köln und Berlin soll sie bisher im November auftreten.

Beim Auftaktkonzert von US-Superstar Pink in Deutschland hat die Sängerin ihre Liebe für Berlin bekundet. »Deutschland – Berlin – war schon immer einer meiner liebsten Orte auf der ganzen Welt«, sagte die 43-Jährige am Mittwoch im Olympiastadion der Hauptstadt. »Ich bin so dankbar.« Beim ersten von sieben Konzerten ihrer internationalen »Summer Carnival«-Tour in Deutschland waren 60.000 Fans gekommen, wie ein Sprecher der Veranstalter am Abend sagte.
Einen Überraschungsgast hatte Pink auch mit im Gepäck. Ihre zwölfjährige Tochter Willow Sage Hart betrat mitten im Song »Cover Me In Sunshine« die Bühne und sang den Hit gemeinsam mit ihrer Mutter. Die Tausenden Fans waren davon sichtlich überrascht. »Sie hat den besten Applaus des Abends bekommen«, kommentierte Pink den Auftritt ihres Kindes. »Sie ist so gut, und sie strengt sich nicht einmal besonders an. Sie ist einfach so gut.« Das Duett mit ihrer Tochter hat Pink im Februar 2021 herausgebracht, als sie eigenen Angaben zufolge das Gefühl hatte, das Ende der Welt sei nah. Zu der Zeit war die Pandemie noch im vollen Gange.
IN DER LUFT SCHWEBEND Bei dem mehr als zweistündigen Konzert gab Pink - die bürgerlich Alecia Beth Moore heißt – sowohl ihre Songs vom im Februar erschienenem Album Trustfall sowie altbekannte Hits wie »Get The Party Started« oder »Raise Your Glass« zum Besten. Den letzten Song »So What« sang sie kopfüber in der Luft schwebend. Die dreifache Grammy-Preisträgerin ist für ihre akrobatischen Einlagen bekannt. Im Juli ist Pink noch bei weiteren Konzerten in München, Köln und Hannover zu sehen.
Alecia Beth Moore wurde am 8. September 1979 in Doylestown (Pennsylvania) geboren. Ihre Mutter Judith Moore, geborene Kugel, ist Jüdin. Pink beschrieb sich unlängst in einem Interview als »irisch-deutsch-litauisch-jüdisch«. Als Sängerin und Songwriterin hat sie seit dem Jahr 2000 neun Alben aufgenommen und acht große Tourneen absolviert. Als Schauspielerin trat sie in 15 Filmen auf, in denen sie zumeist sich selbst spielte.
